Privacy Notice

This is an independent student project, not run or endorsed by York University.

This page explains what York Drop & Add collects, why, and how to get any of it removed. It's written in plain language on purpose — if anything here is unclear, that's a bug, tell us.

What we collect

Your YorkU email — collected when you sign in, used only to send your one-time sign-in link and to know it's really you.
A display name — defaults to the part of your email before the @, but you can change it any time from your account screen.
Listings you post — the course, section, term, campus, and any note you add.
Messages you send — the content of conversations with other students about a listing.

Who can see what

Anyone, signed in or not, can see the board: listings and display names.
Only you can see your own email — it's never shown to other students or displayed anywhere on the site.
Only the two people in a conversation can read its messages.

What we don't do

We don't sell or share your data with advertisers or other third parties. We don't use your email for anything except signing you in. The app never touches your actual course enrollment — it only connects you with another student; you make any real schedule change yourself in your Student Center.

Where it's stored

Data is stored with Supabase, the database/hosting provider this project runs on. They process it on our behalf, under their own security practices, and don't use it for anything of their own.

Deleting your data

Self-serve: open your account screen (the person icon, top right) and use Delete my data — this immediately and permanently removes your display name, every listing you've posted, and every conversation you're part of.

Full removal: that button doesn't remove your underlying sign-in record (your email, held by Supabase's authentication system) — email privacy@dropandadd.com and we'll remove it within a few days.
